"Maggie Fricke is a brilliant artist with a gift of exuberant, creative talent, and so open to listen to what is needed. Magic Mountain is an environmentally focused children's book which required Maggie's continued imagination capturing the mood and the message of caring for the Earth. Her exceptional artwork is only surpassed by her kindness and willingness to meet the needs of each changing scene in the book. Maggie's talent is an enormous contributor to the success and beauty of the book." -- Lisa Dancing-Light, Author of "A Song and Story of Magic Mountain"
Maggie Fricke always knew she was destined to be an artist. She won her first drawing contest at the age of 10. From then on, she won every art competition she entered.
She was invited to join the National Art Honor Society in high school, and was awarded with numerous scholarships for college. After making the Dean's List at the University of Nebraska, she moved to western Colorado to pursue a career as a professional artist.
Since then, she has won several awards at the Glenwood Springs Art Guild's Fall Art Festivals, and has had her work on display at The Red Brick Center for The Arts in Aspen, Colorado.
